Established in August 2002, Casa Verde, which started as a small canteen catering to a dormitory and some students from nearby colleges, has now four restaurants in the metro.
Casa Verde’s first branch is in Ramos. It was originally the family’s ancestral home where they run their humble canteen before it grew into a full-scale restaurant through word-of-mouth and recommendations by family and friends. They soon opened branches at Ayala Terraces and IT Park.
Recently, Casa Verde opened its fourth branch in Cebu at the 3rd Flr Sky Park of SM Seaside City. The restaurant’s ambiance at SM Seaside City is modern, simple and casual. Among their branches in the metro, I’d say it’s the most spacious and roomy. It offers expansive seating options to diners. There are wooden tables and chairs on the right and left wing. At the center are couches with intricate wooden partitions for those who want a more intimate dining experience. At the back, you’ll find a long couch ideal for large group of diners.
True to Casa Verde’s philosophy of Value for Money, one can expect great food and quality service at reasonable prices in a comfortable dining atmosphere. This has made the restaurant one of Cebu’s most popular dining destinations.
When I crave for ribs, I always immediately think of Casa Verde. Juicy and fall-off-the-bone ribs has become synonymous to the restaurants’ name, well at least in my opinion. Moving on from their best selling ribs, let me tell you that Casa Verde has MORE to offer!
They also boast mouth-watering steaks, sumptuous pasta and an interesting variety of appetizers.
For appetizers, you can start off with Green Bites which resemble like meatbealls but instead of meat, its a mixture of broccoli, bacon, onions and cheese rolled into a ball, breaded and lightlt fried to make it crunchy on the outside.
Another interesting appetizer you can try is their Southwest Eggrolls loaded with chicken, corn, black beans, spinach and spices. You can also order their Chicken Quesadilla with spicy fajita, chicken, onions, tomato and cheese.
If you want to sample Casa Verde’s best appetizers, grab their Best Sampler of golden fried cheese, bacon and cheese potato skims and buffalo wings. It’s served with marinara sauce, sour cream and bleu cheese dip on the side.
If you brought your appetite with you, you can try their Southwest Pasta or Seafood Carbonara. Their pasta dishes include a diner roll and honey butter. So, if you’re planning on carbo-loading, head to Casa Verde and enjoy their big servings of sumptuous pasta.
If you want to take a break from their ribs but still want meat, I highly recommend their Surf n’ Turf. It’s USDA eye fillet steak charbroiled, drizzled with balsamic. Its served with harvest rice and vegetable medley on the side.
Another favorite that we recommend is their Count of Monte Cristo sandwich. It’s a stack of ham, turkey, white cheese and American cheese on white bread then battered and fried until golden. Its served with raspberry preserve on the side. This sandwich is a perfect marriage of sweet and savory flavors.
Casa Verde also offers a medley of drink to quench your thirst. They have coolers, juices and fruit shakes.
Casa Verde truly brings home style comfort food to a higher level! Dining experience at this homegrown restaurant is always a satisfying experience.
