At Yoyi’s, delectable desserts and sweet treats need not be expensive!
Tucked along a busy street in Fuente Osmeña is pastry shop that offers affordable, homemade delicacies.
Yoyi’s Pastries and Desserts (formerly known as Yoyi’s Homemade Food Products) started as a small delicacy store in Ormoc City. It was established by Julieta Bonicile Celeste together with her husband, Froilan Celeste, in 1994. The business was named after their second child’s nickname. Their second child did not know how to pronounce “Julie” and ended up saying “Yoyi“, thus the birth of the business’ name.
Since then, the small pastry shop has gained loyal patrons and attracted a growing customer base. For two years since it was established, word-of-mouth referrals and orders from their friends and fellow Couples for Christ members kept the business afloat. It was in 1996 when Julieta and Froilan mustered the courage to strongly pursue the business and go full force. Seeing the opportunity for growth, they added cassava cakes and bar cakes to their menu, capturing the pasalubong market”
