With 11 branches all over the Philippines (Promenade Greenhills, SM Annex, SM Megamall, Robinsons Bacolod, Capitol Commons, McKinley Hill, UP Town Center, Gateway Mall, Nuvali, Eastwood Mall, and Greenbelt 3), Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar has finally made its way to Cebu!

The restaurant is named after the African Bird’s Eye Chili discovered many centuries ago by Portuguese explorers in search of the famed spice route. With the owners’ passion to bring the distinct Portuguese and African flavors to Filipinos, it opened its first branch in Greenhills, San Juan in Metro Manila in 2016. Since then, the homegrown brand expanded their reach by opening more branches in different parts of the country.

1. Fast + Casual + New Dining Concept

“What we bring to the table is a fast casual concept dining—affordable dishes served within five to ten minutes but in a full restaurant setting in terms of ambiance, quality and service,” shared Mr. Bryan Tiu, the President of iFoods Corporation and visionary behind PeriPeri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar.

In Cebu, the restaurant is franchised by Vivo Sugbu Inc. headed by Chairman and CEO Mr. Eric Ng Mendoza.

The wide ranges of sauces that Peri-Peri offers complements the texture of the chicken which makes it even more flavorful. There are no rules on how to eat the chicken so you don’t have to worry about double dipping! You can even mix different sauces to come up with your own signature sauce that’s appealing to your palate.

4. Varied Menu

When one opens Peri-Peri’s menu, you’ll truly feel that you’re spoilt for choice. Chicken is cooked and served in different ways from salads, sandwiches, and appetisers to the main plates, healthy meals with wraps to afternoon delights. In 2015, the restaurant expanded the menu to include an after-dinner selection that goes well with their cocktails for those who want to linger a little longer.

Other items on the menu include their fall-off-the-bone tender BBQ Back Ribs, braised until tender Plata Porco, Fajitas, truffle-based Pasta Tartufo, pizzas, milkshakes and desserts.

Shrimp Aglio Olio

If you’re craving for pasta, you can choose from their best selling Shrimp Agio Olio, al dente pasta tossed in garlic infused olive oil and topped with plump shrimps and parmesan cheese, or Pasta Tartufo, perfectly cooked pasta in truffle infused cream sauce.

For pizza, their Ala Per-Peri (Grilled Peri-Peri chicken strips, onions and tomatoes with rich and flavorful sauce) and Todo Carne (Sauteed ground beef, Italian sausage, slices of ham, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms and mozarella cheese) are must tries.

5. Location + Instagram-worthy Interiors

Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken & Sauce Bar is located at Mandaue City’s newest lifestyle hub, Meerea High Street along Ouano Avenue, North Reclamation Area.

The 210 sq. meter fast casual concept restaurant can seat up to 150 people and features vibrant interiors with two private function rooms. A mix of rustic and industrial design, the restaurant exudes a homey ambiance.
